“We’ll listen, not lecture”
Welcome to the University of Exeter’s student Nightline, formerly known as ‘Voice’.
Nightline is a confidential and anonymous listening service, run by trained student volunteers for Exeter students. We are here to listen to anything you might want to talk about; housing problems, relationship issues, course stresses, even if you just want someone on the end of the phone walking home from a night out, whatever you want to talk about – Nightline is here.
Interested in a role which allows you to support your fellow students and learn new life skills? We have training days coming up and are always keen to hear from conscientious students who want to make a real difference on campus. Please click here for more information on volunteering.
LATEST NEWS: End of Term – Sum-Up (23/12/2017)
From all of us here at Nightline, we hope the student population of Exeter has a lovely and restful holiday period. We’ve had a very successful term – taking hundreds of calls and training up a significant number of new volunteers. Our Co-Presidents attended a South-West regional conference that was very informative, and we’ve also submitted our Good Practice Guidelines Reaccreditation, (a process that takes place every three years to review all our practices to ensure we’re a high enough standard that the Nightline Association verify us.)
Due to volunteer interest, we’re afraid at this time we are no longer accepting new applications to become a listening volunteer for the rest of the academic year. Opportunities will be open again in September 2018. We’re really sorry to let anyone down, but this decision was taken to ensure the highest quality of training and call-taking practice for our current volunteers.
