“We’ll listen, not lecture”
Welcome to the University of Exeter’s student Nightline.
Nightline is a confidential and anonymous listening service, run by trained student volunteers for Exeter students. We are here to listen to anything you might want to talk about; housing problems, relationship issues, course stresses, even if you just want someone on the end of the phone walking home from a night out, whatever you want to talk about – Nightline is here.
Interested in a role which allows you to support your fellow students and learn new life skills? We have training days coming up and are always keen to hear from conscientious students who want to make a real difference on campus. Please click here for more information on volunteering.
LATEST NEWS: End of Term – Sum-Up (28/3/2018)
Exciting announcement – but we were awarded ‘Most Improved Nightline’ at the prestigious National Nightline Awards last week! It’s a fantastic way to finish off what has been a very successful term, with a 100% opening rate (apart from when campus was closed due to snow!) and hundreds of calls taken, as well as nearly all of our volunteers completing their training. Thanks must go to all our volunteers for their hardwork this term, and for the ongoing support from our stakeholders at the university!
Due to the volume of interest, we’re afraid at this time we are no longer accepting new applications to become a listening volunteer for the rest of the academic year. Opportunities will be open again in September 2018!
